Square Enix has released their E3 gameplay trailer showing gameplay for Deus Ex: The Fall. And this made a lot of people pretty mad. A collaboration between Eidos Montreal and and Square Enix's mobile division, Deus Ex: The Fall includes characters from Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect, and picks up directly where that story ends. Oh, and it's coming exclusively to mobile devices. Story-wise, Deus Ex: The Fall actually picks up where Random House's novel Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect left off. It's set during the same timeframe as 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution and is a direct sequel to the novel 'Deus Ex: Icarus Effect'. The RPG is set in 2027, the same time frame as the console-based Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and it incorporates characters from James Swallows' novel, Deus Ex: Icarus Effect. Game has been designed as a 'next chapter' in the story, not as a port or a derivative, Square said, and the story is set in the same year as Human Evolution and uses characters from the Deus Ex novel 'The Icarus Effect'. Storywise, The Fall picks up immediately after the events of the Deus Ex: Icarus Effect novel and continues the story of Ben Saxon, which is also taking place shortly after the attack on Sarif Industries during Human Revolution. Deus Ex: The Fall's story picks up from James Swallow's Icarus Effect, and it follows ex-SAS merc Ben Saxon in a story that runs parallel to Human Revolution. Don't get too excited just yet. I was a bit perplexed by this, as I thought the gameplay in the video felt very Deus Ex like and features Ben Saxon, a character that I became familiar with in the Deus Ex Prequel novel, Icarus Effect. Recently announced by Square-Enix– the next instalment in the critically-acclaimed Deus Ex series. The Fall was develoepd by Square Enix Mobile division in Europe in collaboration with the Human Revolution team at Eidos Montreal, and it picks up where novel "Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect" left off. A story-driven action RPG which picks up directly after the Icarus Effect novel. The game follows Ben Saxon, a mercenary whose vision is augmented, along with the rest of his body. The Fall picks up the Deus Ex story in 2027, directly following the events in James Swallow's novel Deus Ex: Icarus Effect.
